bmi Launches New Flight to Tel Aviv
People looking to travel to Israel may be pleased to know that new flights will be operated daily between the UK and Tel Aviv.British airline bmi is to launch the service from Heathrow this summer, making it the carrier's 38th destination from the airport.
Nigel Turner, chief executive officer of bmi, said: "Tel Aviv is a key destination in the Middle East and Im delighted that today we launch daily non-stop services."
The city has "potential for greater competition" and fits within its strategy for further expansion, Mr Turner stated.
According to the airline, the route is to be served by an Airbus A320, offering 20 business-class seats and 108 in economy.
Mr Turner said this week that 22,000 seats on the flights had already been booked for the months ahead, the Financial Mail reports.
He attributed demand to a combination of inexpensive fares and the attraction of the region as a Holiday destination.
