Winners of the 2007 Hoscars Revealed The winners of 2007's Hoscars have been revealed this week, showcasing
the best cheap-stays around the globe.

Hostelworld.com gave the Flamingo Hostel in Krakow, Poland the coveted
"Best Hostel of 2007" prize for its good atmosphere, at the sixth
Hoscars awards ceremony.

Pawel Wawro from the hostel said: "It's amazing! We are really proud but we didn't expect it. We are doing everything that we can for guests who are coming to Krakow."

He went on to describe what, in his opinion, makes a good hostel.

"The first important thing is having the best place, the second thing is atmosphere. That is the best thing you can offer to the customer, to the guest," he explained.

Over 600,000 Hostleworld.com customers chose their favourite hostels,
from a selection of 15,000 featured on the site, by voting online.

The Clarence Castle hostel in Toronto topped the North American category while Hostel Estoril in Argentina claimed the prize in Latin America.

Backpackers in Africa had been most-impressed by Cape Town Backpackers
hostel in South Africa while visitors of Asia sung the praises of Spicy
Thai Backpackers in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

This week a survey by Teletext Holidays revealed that Paris is the city
which couples say is most likely to cause them to argue, due to its
confusing lay-out.
