Visitors to Trinidad and Tobago 'See the Real Caribbean'

Visitors to Trinidad and Tobago See the Real Caribbean Visitors to Trinidad and Tobago are able to experience the "real" Caribbean, according to one travel expert.

Tobago is a particularly quiet island which offers the chance to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, suggested Brian Schofield, writing for The Times.

The island of Trinidad, he said, is the more lively of the two — especially its "sweltering, rambunctious capital city" Port of Spain.

"Some people suggest there's not much to do on Tobago — they've simply forgotten how to enjoy doing next to nothing," argued Mr Schofield.

He suggested it is an ideal holiday destination for lounging around on the beach, going snorkelling or enjoying the local cuisine.

World Travel Guide states that Port of Spain is the business centre of the country and is a city which offers an interesting blend of cultures.

It adds that Tobago — around 20 miles north-east of Trinidad — has great natural beauty, including impressive and characterful beaches.
