UK is a Great Honeymoon Holiday Location
Newlyweds need not look too far for a location to celebrate their nuptials in as the UK can be a great honeymoon holiday destination, says one industry expert.Wedding website hitched.co.uk claims that work commitments or budgets might not always allow love birds to Travel abroad for long periods of time.
In this instance, a spokesperson for website says, the UK is the "perfect option" for a long weekend or a short break.
Francesca Moore, spokesperson for hitched.co.uk, said: "There's nothing about the word honeymoon that means it has to be taken abroad.
"There's lots of country hotels and spas around the country, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland."
English locations such as the Lake District or the Cotswolds were recommended for their romantic scenery.
On its website the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) recommends three travel agents who specialise in romantic breaks: Bargain Short Breaks, The Vacation Group and Wingjet Travel.
ABTA was formed in 1950 and now represents over 5,500 travel agencies and 900 tour operators throughout the British Isles.
