Tourists Advised to Take out Adequate Cover

Tourists Advised to Take out Adequate Cover The importance of taking out suitable travel insurance has been highlighted in a warning issued by Direct Line.

Chris Price, head of Direct Line Travel Insurance, explained that it was important to consider what activities and equipment could be used on the holiday, in order to ensure the right cover.

"The best way to ensure you have the appropriate policy is to contact your insurer and discuss the cover you need for the activities and equipment you are likely to use," said Mr Price.

Hoidaymakers considering doing sports, such as skiing trips, should take out specific policies. Findings from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office shows that a fifth of British people go on an annual winter sports holiday.

It was also revealed that 31 per cent of Britons fail to take out the right insurance - which could be dangerous as one in 10 British skiers injure themselves on the slopes.
