Top 25 UK and Eire Travel Experiences Listed
Rough Guides, the Travel guide providers, has listed its top 25 travel experiences in Britain and Ireland to coincide with its own 25th birthday.Number one in its list is the Edinburgh Festival - held each summer as a fantastic exposition of the performing arts and a beguiling set of spectacles for any eager visitor.
Next up in the rankings of top travel experiences is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in a remote and dramatically beautiful corner of Wales.
Punting on Cambridge's River Cam comes in next, followed by the unrivalled experience of enjoying a pint of Guinness in Dublin.
Other must-do experiences listed include Durham cathedral, surfing in Newquay, hiking in Snowdonia, London's Notting Hill Carnival, football at Old Trafford and the Glastonbury festival.
Rough Guides' founder Mark Ellingham said: "When we think of Holidays, a lot of people immediately associate this to going abroad. But, believe it or not, you don't actually need to jump on a plane to have an amazing time.
"To celebrate our 25th year, we wanted to share insights and ideas to inspire the ultimate travel experiences."
