There's 'Plenty of Cheap Holiday Pursuits At Home'
Those worried about splashing out on an expensive summer break have been advised that there is plenty to do on home soil.
Wimbledon and Australian Open girls' tournament winner Annabel Croft advised that parents who are worried about not being able to entertain their children during the summer break should get their kids involved in some healthy activity.
She said: "The results of a recent survey revealed that because of the impact of the credit crunch, 75 per cent of families are worried about the escalating costs of keeping kids entertained during the holidays."
The former tennis player tipped non-expensive holidays based around sport, to give trips an added dimension and an extra element of entertainment.
According to Ms Croft, this sort of break will give kids the chance to get fit and healthy, as well as potentially introduce them to a new sport.
David Lloyd Leisure, a major brand of health and fitness clubs, conducted a survey which found that three-quarters of people are worried about the cost of a summer holiday.
Furthermore, 25 per cent of people said that they had run out of ways to entertain their children during the summer break.
