Skies the Limit for Leeds Bradford Airport

Skies the Limit for Leeds Bradford Airport Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) was celebrating this week after being named the UK's most punctual aviation hub.

A new report released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) revealed that the airport outperformed 75 other centres in the final quarter of 2007, also boasting the shortest average delay times.

Peter Willis, operations director at LBIA, said: "We are delighted that the airport has again been commended nationally for its punctuality records and that we continue to provide a pleasant experience for our passengers when they Travel through Yorkshire's premier airport."

He added that the airport's success was owing to "the hard work and commitment" of its staff and its close relationship with its airline partners.

According to the CAA, at LBIA 84 per cent of flights were on time during the quarter and the average delay was of eight minutes – the shortest of any UK airport.

Since last May, 28 new flights have been launched at LBIA and a £70 million investment into the airport's infrastructure and facilities is now underway.
