People Book Holidays Online as it's Easier

People Book Holidays Online as its Easier More people are booking their holidays online because it is "easier" for them, one expert has said this week.

According to Travelsupermarket.com, consumers have worked out that they can do all of their holiday research online without ever having to even visit a travel agent.

Kayte Williams, holidays manager at Travelsupermarket.com, said: "It's easier, with people booking their holidays when they finish work, they just need to log on and they can to do all their research.

"All the information is laid out in front of you; you can save your search, and you can revisit it if you need to check with work for time off or friends."

She added that as people become more confident about making large purchases online, they will book even more of their holidays this way.

Internet research company Ciao Surveys recently conducted a poll, which revealed that only 20 per cent of UK residents use a travel agent to book their holidays.

The survey, which spoke to 1,005 adults, also found that 27.4 per cent of holidaymakers spend over 12 hours doing research online.
