Paris 'Possible on a Budget'
The romance of Paris can be enjoyed on a budget, one expert has suggested.
Holidaymakers can travel directly to the city fairly cheaply, for example by train or budget airline, according to Fred Mawer, writing for The Daily Telegraph.
Once in the French capital, the Mobilis pass represents a cost-effective way to get around, as it provides a whole day of travel on the metro, RER trains and buses in zones one and two for £5.
Commenting on food and drink, Mr Mawer said: "Drinking at the bar counter is as much as 40 per cent cheaper than when sitting at a table, and draft beer… always costs less than bottled beer."
Furthermore, he pointed out that service is usually included in bills — so he has recommended that restaurant diners simply round up the bill to the nearest euro or two.
According to Yahoo! Travel, Paris is "the most glamorous city in Europe".
It adds that its cosmopolitan diversity, evident in its many and varied quarters, is what makes the city so special.
