Package Holidays are Still Popular Package holidays in a wide variety of locations are still popular with British travellers, one industry expert has said this week.

According to travelsupermarket.com, theses types of holidays, which allow travellers to book their flights, airport connections and accommodation in one go, are attracting Brits in a variety of locations.

Kayte Williams, holiday travel manager at travelsupermarket.com, said: "Package holidays are still popular – across the four channels that we compare on our channel, it's the third biggest. That's against flights, hotels and car hire."

She added that destinations that are particularly popular include Majorca, the Red Sea, Costa del Sol, Cyprus, Portugal, the Canary Islands and Mexico, indicating a "real mixture."

Research published by Halifax Travel Insurance has revealed that 2.5 million Brits take a package holiday every year.

While on these holidays, 70 per cent of travellers never visit modern tourist attractions, such as a theme park, and spend an average of seven hours away from the hotel over the course of the entire trip.
