Over 1m Passengers Fly to Asia with Finnair
Over one million passengers travelled on Finnair's Asian flights between January and November this year, according to new reports. The figures, released this week, mark a 200,000 increase from the same period in 2006 growth of 28.1 per cent.
In terms of kilometres Finnair's Asian traffic grew by 46.1 per cent in November and its passenger load factor increased by 3.8 points to 75.9 per cent.
Earlier this month, hot on the heels of other airlines such as easyJet, Finnair announced the introduction of self-service check-in kiosks.
The airline has introduced the service at Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Zürich and Vienna airports to make flying with Finnair easier for passengers.
At the kiosks travellers can check-in for connecting flights, for a return flight that departs within 24 hours and passengers may also check-in online to avoid queuing at the airport.
Finnair caters primarily for passengers in the Northern Hemisphere and aims to increase its activity in air travel between Europe and Asia as well as its business in North America and Asia.
