New Zealand Festival Attracts Holidaymakers
Holidaymakers in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand will be making their way to Quarryfest 2007 again next month. The annual event in Te Puna provides a chance for festival-goers to buy quality crafts, enjoy panoramic views of the Bay of Plenty, make tiles and dance, sing or play instruments in the amphitheatre.
For those looking for a bit more activity on holiday, the festival, held between November 4th and 5th, also offers visitors the chance to abseil down rock faces and learn Tai Chi.
Organisers of Quarryfest say: "The day is only limited by people's imaginations and is available for buskers, food-sellers, Kaimai-Coast producers, face-painters and the like."
Te Puna Quarry Park, which is being developed into an area of "special beauty", features native tree plantings, stone sculptures by artists and plays host to a growing number of outdoor exhibitions and weddings.
The Bay of Plenty, which Quarry Park looks out across, is located on the Pacific Highway Coast and offers visitors a range of things to do, including white-water rafting, kayaking and jetboating.
