Malaysia's Malacca 'An Intriguing Holiday Destination'
A travel expert has said that the Malaysian town of Malacca is an intriguing holiday destination.
It has a very hot climate, extremely interesting cuisine and varied nightlife, according to Rhymer Rigby, writing for The Daily Telegraph.
Furthermore, it has a fascinating history which mixes among others Portuguese, Dutch, British and Chinese influences.
"In a country where so much is new, Malacca is one of the few places where you feel as if you can get a handle on Malaysian history," stated the expert.
The town has a "historic atmosphere" and earlier this year was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the writer added.
Due to the great multiculturalism of the country, Malaysia has become a "gastronomic paradise" as well as hosting a particularly diverse range of festivals, according to the nation's tourist board.
It is also said to be a country of interesting geographical contrasts, with aspects of ultimate modernity sitting alongside ancient cultural gems and areas of natural beauty.
