Kuoni Acquires Luxury Tour Operator

Kuoni Acquires Luxury Tour Operator The Kuoni Group has announced it has acquired the luxury tour operator Carrier for an undisclosed sum.

Carrier has 84 employees, who Kuoni has confirmed will be retained under the new ownership — while the Carrier brand will also be retained.

According to Kuoni, Carrier is particularly strong in the classic beach holiday market, and its main travel destinations are the Caribbean, Europe and the Indian Ocean.

"Carrier is a great enrichment for the Kuoni Group and for our activities in the UK market," said Reto Wilhelm, head of strategic business division Style.

He added: "We also see sizeable potential to collaborate in our marketing to Kuoni's high-end customers and Carrier's premium customer base."

The latest acquisition comes hot on the heels of the recent announcement from Kuoni that it is to purchase the business activities of Melbourne-based Australian Tours Management (ATM).

Kuoni cited ATM's strong position in the Indian and Far East markets, as well as its success in travel packages within Australia, as being key reasons behind the move.
