KLM Launches Extra Flight to Amsterdam from Liverpool Starting from 10 May this year, air carrier, KLM is all set to expand its services at Liverpool John Lennon Airport by adding a new flight to Amsterdam.

The addition of this new flight will mean there will be four flights in total on the route to Amsterdam.

The existing three flights were introduced in March 2009 as a link between Liverpool and Amsterdam's main hub at Schiphol. They were also intended to connect with more than 800 other routes operated by KLM and its Skyteam network worldwide.

The new service will add 33 per cent extra capacity to the link and the timings of all flights will give a greatly improved service overall.

Passengers will not only be able to access the European mainland for travellers from north-west England, but will also allow long-haul passengers to connect to destinations such as Johannesburg, Mexico City and Shanghai.

General Manager of Air France-KLM in the UK and Ireland Henri Hourcade said in a press release: “Our new summer schedule is great news for Liverpool and for KLM and is a tangible symbol of the strength of our operations out of Merseyside.”

Mr Hourcade added that the new schedule: “means faster connectivity with KLM's intercontinental route network, seamless integration with our European network and the convenience of being able to do a full day's business in Amsterdam and be back home in time for dinner.”

A Fokker 70 aircraft will be used for the additional flight from Liverpool John Lennon Aircraft and has capacity to carry up to 80 passengers.
