Holidaymakers Treat Themselves to Luxury
Holidaymakers are more likely to splurge on an expensive getaway at Christmas time, according to industry experts.Virgin Atlantic has said that holidaymakers are more inclined to buy a luxury seat on its aircraft at Christmas while a milestone birthday ups the chances of this type of booking even more.
Anna Knowles, a spokesperson for Virgin Atlantic, said: "Christmas tends to be a time when many Travel to see their friends and family around the world.
"On some occasions they will decide to treat themselves, however more popular occasions tend to be milestone birthdays, wedding anniversaries with the most popular occasion tending to be honeymoons."
She added that Virgin Atlantics Upper Class cabin on its new Mauritius route is "filled with honeymooners" who are willing to splash out on the luxury experience to mark their special occasion.
Recently TravelMole.co.uk reported that the number of economy seats available on aircraft would decrease as a growing number of passengers opt for premium seats for long-haul trips.
