Holidaymakers 'Increasingly Go Online to Get Best Deals'

Holidaymakers Increasingly Go Online to Get Best Deals People are increasingly using the internet to search for the best holiday deals, an industry expert has suggested.

This means it is increasingly important for travel companies to get their websites and overall service right, according to Sam Morris, account director at online marketing firm Latitude.

He argued that travel firms need to think about what the customer is seeking in the current economic climate and to tailor their services accordingly.

Furthermore, consumers are not solely concerned about the price of a holiday, Mr Morris advised.

He explained: "With the fall of XL, one of the key things that people are looking for are sites that are ATOL and ABTA-registered."

The latest findings from digital market research specialists eDigitalResearch indicate that 75 per cent of people now prefer to book their holidays online.

However, the firm's survey found that a third of travel firms do not regularly track customer opinion — and almost half admitted they have little idea as to whether consumers achieve what they set out for when visiting their websites.
