Holidaymakers Get Back to Nature Camping
Holidaymakers can get back to nature by going on a camping holiday, according to one industry expert.Tour operator Europcamp said this week that not only does camping allow travellers to "really explore the outdoors" it is also a "greener holiday option".
Ruth Start, Eurocamp's head of sales and marketing, said: "Families can make the most out of local attractions and Eurocamp parks often personify the culture and traditions of the destination."
She added that camping holidays also offer "good value for money" with varied accommodation types to suit every budget and taste.
Furthermore, Ruth noted that Eurocamp "actively encourages" its customers to use public transport through its links with Rail Europe, boosting this type of holiday's green credentials.
In May 2007, the AA reported a "boom" in the popularity of camping and caravanning holidays.
The motoring firm claimed that this "boom" was beginning to have an impact on the consumer's choice of car.
