Greece Set to Soar this Summer

Greece Set to Soar this Summer Competitive prices are set to lure the Brits to Greece this year, according to one industry expert.

According to online tour operator lastminute.com other "competitive" locations such as the southern Moroccan city of Agadir and Spain are also likely hotspots for 2008.

John Bevan, managing director of lastminute.com UK, said: "As for up and coming destinations, Cape Verde is an increasingly popular destination and China is becoming very popular with the olympics."

He added that lastminute.com is already starting to get bookings for the summer but noted that the normal lead in time for bookings is closer to six weeks before departure.

The Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises has predicted that arrivals in the country will reach 19.4 million by the year 2010.

Moroccan officials are also making positive predictions for its tourism market.

Last month, Morocco Properties Ltd announced that tourism in the country peaked last year as 7.45 million tourists visited the country.

Morocco tourism officials hope to attract ten million tourists by 2010.
