Google Street View Gives Skiers Perfect Look at the Slopes

Google Street View Gives Skiers Perfect Look at the Slopes Google Maps’ powerful Street View tool has just been expanded to include a whole range of top ski resorts to help holidaymakers plan that perfect snowy getaway.

Yesterday Google announced that it has expanded its special collections section of Street View to include some of the top ski resorts situated around the world. These collections give the avid skiing and snow activity enthusiast the opportunity to check out these resorts in greater and more up to date detail than any brochure could offer.

This means that whether you want to check out a favourite resort to see what's new, or scout out a new top spot, Street View will let you get a better sense of the snowy peaks than ever before. Investigate snow levels, cool new runs and lifts that you might have missed on a previous visit.

Premier ski holidays resort Whistler in Canada gets the special Street View treatment, showing off the gloriously crisp runs that cater for all ages and ability levels. Home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler has gone from strength to strength since the completion of its grand "Peak 2 Peak" lift project which links Whistler and Blackcomb peaks.

Squaw Valley in northern California and Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado also feature in the Google team's favourite spots, thanks to their stunning vistas, wide pistes and excellent range of runs.

Although the ski season is in full flow, last minute flights to Canada and the USA for ski holidays are still available at remarkable prices provided that you are willing to be flexible on flight dates and times.
