Fun and Fiestas on 2008 Holiday Horizon

Fun and Fiestas on 2008 Holiday Horizon Sun seekers who enjoy a fiesta or two during their holiday will avail of Mexico's many delights this year, according to predictions.

US travel experts with their finger on the transatlantic pulse singled out Cancun and the Mayan Riviera as two dream destinations for 2008.

In a report from Associated Press, analysts also predicted Caribbean cruises, romantic Roman breaks and Mediterranean package holidays to be among the more popular travel choices in the coming months.

Furthermore, airline analyst Terry Trippler informed the news agency that passengers moving between Europe and the US could soon benefit from lower airfares due to a new Open Skies agreement, expected to be implemented in March.

It will enable around six airlines to add direct flights to London's Heathrow Airport from major US bases, including Atlanta, Houston, New York's JFK, Dallas, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

As a result, trips to the US, Mexico and South American destinations could become more accessible for UK travellers.

Earlier this week, Mexico was highlighted as a recommended destination for families and couples by the Sun and Times newspapers, which lauded the country's sandy beaches, coral reefs and many watersports choices.
