Frequent Travellers Should Get Annual Holiday Insurance
Those who take more than three holidays per year should take out an annual travel insurance policy, one expert has recommended.According to financial comparison website, moneysupermarket.com, taking out an annual policy will save those who frequently go abroad time and money.
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at moneysupermarket.com, said: "The rule is that if somebody goes away three or more times a year, it's more beneficial really to take an annual policy."
He added that these policies are now very cheap, whereas they used to be "a couple of hundred pounds" compared with just £30 now for an annual policy covering European travel.
According to a survey undertaken by swiftcover.com and YouGov, 37 per cent of people have been the victim of theft while visiting Spain, compared with 19 per cent who holiday in France.
The need for travel insurance was further highlighted by a Foreign and Commonwealth Office study, which revealed that 41 per cent of holidaymakers drink more than they would at home when abroad.
