France Remains the Original Camping Destination
France is still the "original camping destination" for Brits, according to one industry expert.Tour operator Europcamp made the claim, explaining that France remains popular as it is easily accessible for Brits.
Ruth Start, Eurocamp head of sales and marketing, said: "France remains a popular choice with Eurocamp customers as it is easily accessible from the UK and remains a camping legacy in terms of being the original camping destination for Brits."
She added that Eurocamp's five most popular parcs in France are: Garangeoire, Vendee; Labenne, Gascon; Le Buge, Dordogne; Beg Meil, Brittany; and Arzano, Brittany.
The most popular of these parcs, 'The Vendee', has over 400 classified campsites available for happy campers.
It is located on the French Atlantic coast, south of Brittany and Nantes and north of La Rochelle, and is around the same size as Cornwall.
Vendee is also within two to five hours of various western ferry ports, making it easily accessible.
