Festival Goers Told to Take Essentials with Them
Festival goers have been advised to pack essential items such as sun cream and wet weather clothing to ensure they enjoy the experience.St John's Ambulance, which has been providing first aid cover at major public events since Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, said that prescription drugs such as inhalers should also be packed as first aiders cannot give these out.
Clive James, senior training officer at St John Ambulance, said: "The most common conditions we come across are those which are easily preventable, like sunburn and dehydration.
"The numbers of people we treat obviously depends on the weather but we always advise festival goers to take both sun cream and wet weather clothing."
He added that "you would be surprised" how many people go to festivals out without either.
According to soldoutentertainments.com, Britain's summer will play host to a "magnitude of music festivals" in 2008, where over the period of a weekend various artists perform to thousands of festival goers.
Many of these festivals accommodate for camping so that revellers need never leave the "electrical atmosphere" that these festivals provide.
Some of the UK's best-known festivals include V Festival, T in the Park, the Big Chill, the Reading and Leeds festivals, the Isle of Wight festival and Oxegen festival although the most famous by far is Glastonbury Festival.
