Families Advised to Book Adventure Hols in Advance
A leading Travel operator has urged families to book their adventure Holidays in advance, as peak season school breaks get snapped up so quickly.Travel Nation, an ABTA bonded travel company founded in 2001, says that adventure Holidays offer great value for money and are something "a bit out of the ordinary" for families.
Matt Hodgson, manager of Travel Nation, said: "More and more of the larger adventure companies are now featuring family trips in their brochures.
"It's a relatively expensive family holiday; but the experience the family is getting is varied and [it's] something a bit out of the ordinary, so value for money-wise I'd support it all the way."
According to the most recent figures from the Office of National Statistics, in 2005-6 UK families spent an average of £12.50 per week (£650 per year) on family package holidays abroad, compared to £1 per week (£52 per year) on package holidays within the UK.
