Expert Names Top 5 Algarve Activities

Expert Names Top 5 Algarve Activities Family Holidaymakers have been advised of the top five things to do in the Portuguese region of the Algarve this week.

One expert has advised those holidaying in the sun-soaked destination to make sure they cool down at one of the local water parks.

Aqualand was singled out as the best of these facilities by Daniel Eyre of Search Travel Online, who tipped the attraction for its fantastic flumes, including the Banzai Boggan that boasts a 23-metre vertical drop.

Once holidaymakers have cooled down, Mr Eyre recommended a trip to Almancil Karting.

He said: "If you want to try something a little different on your Algarve family holiday, why not try go-karting?"

The go-karting facility boasts a 760-metre track and attracts around a quarter of a million visitors each year.

However, for those who aren't tempted by a 23-metre vertical drop or fast cars maybe a trip to the zoo to see the animals will be more appealing.

Lagos Zoo with its "beautifully landscaped gardens" has a 60-metre flight tunnel, in which visitors can observe a variety of exotic birds, while children will also get the chance to come into close contact with domestic animals.

Mr Eyre's fifth and final recommendation was Krazyworld, which has a range of golf, swimming and quad biking facilities on offer for visitors to enjoy.

According to the Lonely Planet, the Algarve is a "holiday heaven", that boasts "sunshine, natural bays, dramatic cliffs and warm seas".
