Expert Advises Skiers To Shop Around For Insurance

Expert Advises Skiers To Shop Around For Insurance People going on skiing holidays should shop around for the best-value insurance policy before they travel, an industry insider has advised.

Speaking to an insurance broker is a good way to make significant savings, according to Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive at the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA).

His key piece of advice to people on winter sports holidays was not to pay too high a premium.

"When you come to buy your skiing and winter sports extension, prices can vary," the expert pointed out.

"Some charge 30 per cent more, some charge 50 per cent more, some charge 100 per cent more," he warned.

New research conducted by esure travel insurance suggests that some skiers are making potentially hazardous cutbacks as a result of the challenging economic climate.

Almost one in five people polled admitted that they would not purchase travel insurance, in order to save on the total cost of their winter sports holiday.
