Europe holds the Key for Family Holidays The planning of a last-minute getaway can be made a more difficult decision if you are Travelling with a family.

However a range of Europe's top cities perfectly cater for adults and children who could be searching for a variety of activities to interest them, according to the Sunday Mirror.

There is a range of historic periods in time which can also be fun to learn. Learning about the Roman Empire and visiting the colosseum in Rome or the seeing a Viking boat in Stockholm can open both young and old minds to the periods of time.

The newspaper suggests that young sporty-types go to Barcelona and visit their famous Nou Camp football stadium or olympic stadium used in 1992.

Or for more of the great outdoors a trip to Reykjavik can unlock some of Iceland's natural attractions.

There are many cities which exude culture. Trips to the music and mountains of Salzburg or the museums of Gothenburg can be spectacular visits for the family.

For great food a trip to Rome or Paris will bring out the unmistakable cuisine of the county, and every child will live the chocolate museums of Brussels.

With the RAC predicting the "worst-ever" Holiday jams this Easter, with road and rail disruptions expected, then a last-minute trip to Europe may appeal to families wanting a less stressful break, the Daily Telegraph reports.
