England World Cup Matches Shown On The High Seas

England World Cup Matches Shown On The High Seas Thomson Cruises and Island Cruise are planning to set aside special big screens on board their ships this summer in order to show every match that involves England in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup taking place in South Africa.

The ships that are planning to show the matches are the vessels Thomson Dream, Thomson Celebration, Thomson Spirit, Thomson Destiny and the Island Escape. The ships have all allocated specific areas of their vessels to show live football games on big screens.

Other matches that are going to be shown include those that involve Brazil and Spain. For those who are not interested in the beautiful game are also catered for with special deals on a variety of treatments at the spas that are located on board.

The managing director of both cruise lines, David Selby said: “The fact that Thomson Cruises and Island Cruises are showing the World Cup games while at sea shouldn’t detract from the great cruise experience passengers will enjoy this summer.”

He went on to point out that the matches are only screened a few hours a day and not every day, and would only mean screenings on average twice a week over a weeks’ itinerary.

Mr Selby continued: “This means that the rest of the time our passengers can enjoy all that the cruise ships have to offer, such as world-class entertainment or a quality food and beverage offering, as well as the chance to spend time in one of the many fantastic ports of call.”
