Eco-Friendly Caravan Holidays On the Up
Many Brits are beginning to take steps to lower the impact of their carbon footprint by going on eco-friendly caravan and camping holidays, it has been revealed.
The Coventry Telegraph reports that around 45 per cent of Brits are seeking greener holiday alternatives and noted that caravanning is also a brilliant option for those who are budgeting in light of the credit crunch.
According to the newspaper, a whole host of green holidays have been ushered into fashion, including staying in "luxury tents", which farmers have erected on their land.
Furthermore, The Camping and Caravanning Club notes that there has been a shift in the type of person who takes this kind of break in recent years.
According to the organisation, whereas camping breaks used to appeal to the over-60s they are now attracting families and people in the 40s looking for a different kind of holiday.
However, Confused.com has recently published research which revealed that those taking caravanning holidays are not taking out the proper insurance on their homes while they are away, leaving themselves financially exposed.
