Delta Announce New Flights to Ghana
This week Delta Airlines announced that it was launching new flights to Accra in Ghana. The new flights will operate via the world’s largest airport hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The new direct flights will begin 1 June and will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Bobby Bryan, Delta’s commercial manager for West and East Africa said: “These special fares provide a great opportunity for customers all across the U.S. to travel to Accra and reunite with friends and family this summer.”
Mr Bryan added that his airline, which has been the leading US airline in Ghana for over three years, had decided to launch its second non-stop flight to lend a boost for travel and tourism between the two nations.
Delta already offers a non-stop flight between Accra and its hub at New York JFK, which operates four times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Meanwhile, Delta Airlines is to introduce a non-stop service from New York to Valencia on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. TravelMole.com reported that a new service will begin from 5 June which will see four flights a week depart from JFK to Valencia Airport.
Depending on the popularity of the route with American travellers, the service may be increased to five times a week later in the summer.
Javier Pinanes, director of the Tourist Office of Spain in New York said last month: “Valencia is becoming one of Spain’s most popular destinations for Americans. With Delta’s new service, they will now be able to travel there faster and more conveniently.”
