Delta Air Lines Bring Back Popular Summer Flights

Delta Air Lines Bring Back Popular Summer Flights The Manchester to New York flight path is to be reinstated by Delta Air Lines for summer 2010, TravelMole has reported.

The airline is to resume daily flights between the two airports, popular with travellers and holidaymakers alike. Flights will be made with a Boeing 757-200, which can hold 170 travellers.

Passengers will be able to fly from Manchester to John F Kennedy Airport from 2 May next year, after normal service is resumed following a temporary halt on flights during the winter months from 7 January. Delta shares this flight path with Air France-KLM airlines, which codeshares on the Manchester to New York route.

The airline is improving its international flight schedule for next summer, and the announcement of the re-opening of the route between these two airports is part of its ongoing plans. The partnership with Air France-KLM airlines also allows Delta to pursue more extensive flight paths to and from Europe, and it is reintroducing 16 non-stop transatlantic flights as a result of the partnership.

Armin Venencie, Delta’s UK and Ireland regional sales director said: “Manchester is an important market for Delta. We are committed to this city and will be operating two daily services during the busy holiday periods.”

Executive vice-president marketing, revenue management and network for Air France-KLM, Bruno Matheu said: “By optimizing the use of our pooled resources, this joint venture helps us weather the current economic situation and protect our product offering.”

The partnership between the two airlines has allowed Delta to expand its offering of 45 flights daily between America and Europe in summer 2005 to over 100 flights daily for summer 2010.
