Cyclists Told to Take Essentials When Going on Holiday

Cyclists Told to Take Essentials When Going on Holiday Cyclists have been advised not to neglect taking the essentials with them when they go on a sports holiday.

Independent cycle holiday and mountain bike training company, CycleActive, added that a peaked helmet and cycling shorts are must-haves on any such trip.

Chris Ford, managing director of CycleActive, said: "A lot of people get without a peak but it keeps the sun off of your face."

"Sunglasses are great as you don't want squinty eyes and the other element of that, is that, even in the UK, it keeps dirt out of your eyes."

He added that although a lot of people do not want to wear cycling shorts for aesthetic reasons the reality is that, because there are no seams anywhere near "any of your pressure points" on these garments, cyclists will be much more comfortable.

According to VisitBritain, tourism is Britain's fifth largest industry, worth £85 billion and employing 2.1 million people.
