Chile Looking To Attract UK Visitors

Chile Looking To Attract UK Visitors The South American country of Chile is aiming to attract more visitors from the UK to its shores.

Its tourism drive sees Pablo Moll appointed as the new director of its national tourism organisation - with a keen focus on the UK among the items in his brief.

He said: "We are launching this first-ever media and awareness campaign in the UK as we believe British travellers are tailor-made to enjoy Chile.

"Our campaign will be aimed at persuading the more affluent UK travellers that Chile is the best long-haul destination all the year round."

Last year saw the number of UK tourists arriving into Chile increase by an impressive 7.3 per cent - totalling 56,682 arrivals.

This year has to date seen even more promising figures - with January, Chile's warmest month, seeing a 19 per cent year-on-year rise in the number of visitors from Britain.
