Brits Taking up Skiing and Snowboarding
Sports holidays are becoming more popular with Brits, who are keen to ski and snowboard on their breaks.Nonstopadventure.com, which is a snow sports instructor training company that also offers a wide range of sailing experiences, made the claim, adding that these types of holidays are easy to take, with European ski resorts being so close.
Tom Gordon-Walker, marketing director at Nonstopadventure.com, said: "At the moment we are seeing up to a 100 per cent increase in our bookings this year on last year, so our numbers have been increasing dramatically."
He added that now, because of exchange rates, Brits are looking to go further afield to places they have not tried before, such as Canada.
Figures released by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in January 2008 revealed that a fifth of Brits now go on winter sports holidays annually.
On top of this, one in ten British skiers incur an injury on the slopes and experts say the risk of sustaining a serious injury while skiing or snowboarding has increased over the past decade.
