British tourists 'should plan holiday spending'

British tourists should plan holiday spending British tourists are not too great when it comes to planning their Holiday spending, research from the Post Office has shown.

It found that one in three of us do not even bother with a holiday budget when we head for far-flung climes - and 48 per cent of us make a budget before our good intentions come undone when we arrive at our location of choice.

Head of Travel Kevin McAdam observed that it really does pay to think about your financial habits when away.

He said: "If you do not have unlimited funds at your disposal - and not many of us do - it makes sense to set a spending limit, even when on holiday. However, these figures prove that surprisingly few people do so."

Unsurprisingly, eating out and sightseeing were found to be the two primary causes of overspending.
