Boris Johnson Joins Holiday Debate

Boris Johnson Joins Holiday Debate Mayor of London, Boris Johnson today announced that he would be going somewhere "as sunny and foreign as possible" after news of both Gordon Brown and David Cameron taking their holidays in the UK.

Writing in The Daily Telegraph, Mr Johnson even complimented Tony Blair on travelling abroad, a man who he lauded for taking "utterly shameless" holidays.

Mr Johnson commented that the prime minister was exhausted and needed a break away from the country to "recharge his batteries" otherwise his holiday would perhaps be cut short by another national crisis.

"I am going to take a holiday abroad, and in my view it would be absurd, hypocritical and frankly inhumane to do anything else," he added.

"I say stuff Skegness. I say bugger Bognor."

Mr Cameron plans to holiday in north Cornwall and Mr Brown is heading to Southwold in Suffolk, the latter being reported in The Times as the "most English" resort complete with Blue Flag beaches.
