Booking Online Gives Travellers Convenience

Booking Online Gives Travellers Convenience Booking holidays online gives travellers the benefit of convenience, according to one industry expert.

The largest consumer body in the UK Which? Holiday made the claims, explaining that online travel websites allow consumers to search for the best deal without leaving their home or office.

Kate Shipp, researcher for Which? Holiday, said: "It's also about being able to compare things quickly on price and choice.

"You obviously have choice in a travel agent but you will be restricted perhaps in terms of the Holidays on offer."

She added that another benefit of booking online is that it is enables the traveller to "tailor the holiday" to suit their needs.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics reveal that 61 per cent of households had internet access in 2007.

Last September, TravelMole reported that a Travel Technology Initiative special report had found that the number of UK travel agent branches in the UK had fallen from 6,100 in 2005 to 5,000 last year.
