Bermudas Beaches Top Poll Holidaymakers have named Bermuda as the place they would most like to lounge on a beach while abroad.

According to a poll carried out by online company Ciao Surveys, 23 per cent of holidaymakers would like to head to the North Atlantic Ocean islands of Bermuda, while 15.6 per cent would prefer to sail around the Greek Islands.

Other holidays that topped travellers' wish lists included shopping in New York (13.9 per cent) and hiking in the Himalayas (4.9 per cent).

Top scoring continents were Australia and North America, which 24.8 per cent and 19.6 per cent of travellers said they would most like to visit, respectively.

A spokesperson for PR agency Rooster told the Royal Gazette: "Bermuda offers more golf courses per square mile than anywhere else in the world and each with a sea view, making the destination a golfers' paradise."

She added that the region is rich in heritage, boasting a range of historical influences from different artists and poets who have helped create a distinctive "Bermudian identity".
