BAA Relax Hand Baggage Restrictions

BAA Relax Hand Baggage Restrictions BAA has announced this week that it is relaxing its hand baggage restrictions for passengers.

As of Monday February 11th passengers on flights connecting through the North Terminal at Gatwick have been allowed to take more than one piece of hand luggage on board.

Those flying out through the airport's South Terminal have been able to do so since January 7th.

However airport authority officials remind passengers that the one bag rule remains in force for all other flights, and will only be relaxed when construction work at the airport is completed, allowing it to upgrade security.

Passengers itchy to board with more than one bag will be pleased to hear that the Department for Transport has issued a deadline on the restriction for all airlines of May 31st 2008.

BAA is a world-leading airport company which presides over London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Southampton and Naples airports.

It is owned by Ferrovial, a Spanish construction firm that specialises in four strategic lines of business – airports, construction, transport and infrastructure.
