BA Buffs Up its In-Flight Food
Top chefs from around the world have been enlisted by British Airways (BA) in a bid to improve its in-flight menu.
A Culinary Council comprised of leading figures in the food industry has been formed to help provide the best gastronomic service to its passengers, reports ArabianBusiness.com.
Carol Conway, catering innovation and standards manager for the airline, told the news website: "What the chefs do is they come in to work with our catering outfit
She added that the airline is aiming to create a contemporary, healthier menu, which at the same time will still give passengers the option to indulge in the occasional treat.
One food expert on the council is Paisarn Cheewinsiriwat, who is a chef at one of Thailand's most luxurious resorts, Chiva-Som.
The hotel, which is the only spa resort to have been featured in the top three of the Conde Nast Traveller UK's 'Reader Travel Awards' consistently in the last decade, features 57 rooms with ocean views.
All of its food is prepared organically from fruits and vegetables grown in its gardens, providing guests with a gourmet experience that is low in calories.
