Allure Of The Seas Floated Out

Allure Of The Seas Floated Out It seems that the Allure of the Seas is ready to go as last Friday it was floated out of the Finnish dock where it was being constructed.

The Allure of the Seas is the sister vessel to the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. This ship is the second of the company’s fleet of mega ships and holds 5,400 passengers.

Oasis of the Seas will be formally named on 30 November and will enter service from Fort Lauderdale in Miami, sailing to the Caribbean on 5 December.

Following in its sister’s footsteps, Allure of the Seas is now being prepared for sailing, having been moved from dry to wet dock at the STX Europe shipyard in Turku. The ship is scheduled to be launched in December 2010, jut a year after the Oasis of the Seas sets off.

According to Royal Caribbean’s president and CEO Adam Goldstein: “This is simply a thrilling time for Royal Caribbean. Oasis of the Seas has been welcoming her first guests these past few days, and to think that Allure of the Seas will follow suit in just one short year is just extraordinary.”

Allure of the Seas promises to host many of the features that its sister ship boasts. There will be seven themed areas for passengers to enjoy: Central Park, the Royal Promenade, Boardwalk, Pool & Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Centre, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone. There will also be what the company’s website describes as “unparalleled dining, shopping and entertainment.”

Royal Caribbean International currently has 21 ships in service and one under construction.
