A Cruise On The Nile Is 'Awe-Inspiring'
A cruise along the Nile from Aswan to Luxor takes in some of the most "awe-inspiring, breathtaking and beautiful" sites in the world, a travel writer has reported for The Times.
The SS Sudan cruise ship has an "excellent" crew and provides holidaymakers with "high-quality" cuisine, writes Marcel Berlins. The excursions on land at each of the boat's docking points are "wondrous", he added.
Commenting on his huge enjoyment of the cultural tours, Mr Berlins said: "Five of them were on the itinerary, every one of them spectacular, exciting, different from the others."
The accompanying guide was "excellent", the writer continued, as he was "learned, interesting... and with very good English".
According to the Egypt Tourist Authority, a Nile cruise is a particularly "relaxing and luxurious" way to experience many of the country's fascinating cultural sites.
It states that there is a choice of some 300 Nile cruisers — and points out that the Aswan-Luxor route takes in the great pharaonic temples of Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo.
